Community Outreach
On November 2, 2008, join us at a Chili Cook-Off
benefiting our medical clinics for the uninsured at the
Congregational Church in Corvallis. We seek community members who
want to serve on the events committee and sponsorships from local
businesses to help us make this event a success. Call the
Development Office at 541-758-3000 for more information.
In October, join us at the Jackson Plaza for the
third annual Walk a Mile for a Child! event along the waterfront.
The event benefits our Therapeutic Childcare Center (called Mari's
Place) for low-income community members. Arrive at 9:30 a.m. to
check in; the walk begins at 10:00 a.m. There will be prizes and
you have the opportunity to make a donation when you register.
Stay informed about the issues our clients and agency
faces by joining our mailing list so you can read our newsletters
and receive our end-of-year Catalog of Caring. To become more
involved, volunteer or ask the Development Office for a tour to get
a personal view of how we help clients achieve self sufficiency.
We are a comprehensive provider of social and medical services with an open door to all – the working poor, men, women, families, and children, the unemployed, victims of domestic violence, the addicted,
and the uninsured. We teach parents valuable parenting skills
and help alcoholics and addicts achieve their goals of sobriety. Staffed by volunteer physicians,
nurses, interpreters, and health educators, our medical services provided over
4,000 patient visits. The demand for our
medical services continues with an increasing number of Oregonians going
without insurance or being underinsured.
Give our clients a chance to hope again. We help people
transition from homelessness to stability.
