Therapeutic Childcare at Mari's Place
Community Outreach offers therapeutic daycare services for preschool children in families participating in our emergency and transitional housing programs. Children benefit from the care and attention of qualified teachers in a low ratio class room, in a state licensed care facility.
Class curriculum is designed to meet the unique needs of homeless or highly transient families and assist families in their journey toward stability and the creation of a healthy family system.
Old Mill School, a partner in the design and operation of the center,
provides assessment and counseling to children and families who have needs for additional mental health services. Children's therapy groups
are part of the regular classroom activities. Individual counseling and family counseling
are available as needed.
Parent Education is an integral part of the services provided. Parents who are not working
are required to participate in the center's operation. They will work directly with the parent educator to learn effective parenting skills and develop appropriate interactions with their children in order to prevent abusive interactions and help grow healthy and happy children.
